Crochet a Yo-Yo Cushion

Yo-Yo Cushion | Sarah London

A pop of colour today!

It was around this time last year that I blogged about utilising your tiny left over scraps of yarn by making yo-yo’s! You’ll find that post here.

Too precious to toss . . . those tiny fragments of left over yarn!

Instead of continuing with a coverlet, I worked a few more yo-yo’s and transformed the piece into a cushion.

It’s a nice injection of colour, especially on these chilly Winter days.

You’ll find the instructions below if you’d like to start hooking a few yo-yo’s too!

To make a Yo-Yo:

Ch 6, join with sl st to form a ring.

Ch 3, work 15 tr into ring, join with a sl st into top of beg ch-3.

Fasten off.

Use your preferred method of joining . . . for this project I joined as I went.

I can not believe that we have been in our new house now for 6 months. What’s even more unbelievable is that I am still unpacking boxes!

I’ve slowly been decorating/dressing each room . . . our new bed has been delivered, much excitement! I’ll share some pics next week with you.

Happy Weekend and New Moon!

I’ll be back later tonight with three new patterns!

New Patterns for June!

I can not believe it’s June already! In a blink of an eye July will arrive. This year is going super quick!

Today I’ve got three new patterns to share with you, fresh off the hook.

First up, Giselle!

A riot of vibrant colour! I utilized oddments of yarn whilst working this one, introducing a splash of variegated yarn also just to add some jazz.

I also worked a Giselle cushion! Instructions for both blanket and cushion are in the PDF.

If you prefer less colour Giselle works up wonderfully in three harmonious hues!

Next up, a colour rich Chakra Blanket!

All colours of the rainbow! If you meditate or do heaing work this would be a lovely blanket to have in your collection.

I selected a stitch that is more than a dc (sc) but less than a htr (hdc). It’s a stitch with a twist somewhere in between!

I’m currently enjoying a wonderful 5 week meditation course. Every Saturday afternoon, I pause, and go to my meditation class, and breathe.

Lastly, a woven little number, Turkish Delight!

Rows and rows of colour running across a neutral base.

This pattern works beautifully for a blanket, a cushion, or even a scarf!
