I absolutely love this new 3D kind of look, reminiscent of a traditional granny square — beautiful use of left-over project fiber. Thank you for sharing this.

Hey Sarah, Thank you for the free pattern. Very generous of you. This is definately one I will be using soon. All the best
Beautiful pattern. Your instructions say to use a 4 mm hook, but your photos in the tutorial show that you are using a 3.5 mm hook. Can you please clarify. Thanks

One of your girls was a bit sceptical as to how this would look done in a cheaper yarn as she was n a budget… mine was made in DK 4ply cheap, cheap cheap yarn that I found for 75p per ball.. in the UK.
I think it looks fab.. check it out on flickr

Wow, this look wonderful. I’ve might have read over it, but with this amount of stitches how wide will the blanket be? Do you think this is a reasonable project for a beginner? I just did recently wrist warmers and a baggy beanie. Your feedback is much appreciated.
can it be extended to make the full blanket by just working on and on on the first square? Or is this supposed to be the sum of many little squares?
Thanks for sharing such a stunning project. I just started volunteering at a local food/clothing shelter. I think I’ll whip up one of these blankets for the homeless!
Hi, Just found your CAL! I can hardly wait to get started? Sorry to ask such a silly question, but when you say “wool” do you mean actual wool, or are you referring to yarn in general? This is so lovely, and I’m not a very confident crocheter, so I don’t want to mess it up from the get go. Although I was once in a class where our instructor said not to worry about being a perfectionist… anything that turned out a little differently then expected we should view as “whimsical”. I love that thought!!! Thanks so much for sharing this pattern!!

Wow awsome can’t wait to see the end product Wooleater blanket here we go.Will keep you posted.
Is the pattern using English crochet abbreviations or American ’cause I”m a bit confused tbh. >.<
Sarah, THANK YOU for the beautiful free pattern! I’ve gotten to Round 2 on the oblong pattern & Round 3 on the Square pattern and then I’ve gotten stuck. I basically have questions about how to incorporate a new color in and how (& where) I work from the back of the piece to make the cool 3D ridge. Is there another set of instructions that you know of? I’ve search youtube, etc. and am pretty stuck. Thanks SO much for any help you can give me! I SO want to make this blanket. It’s gorgeous!
I JUST SIGNED UP FOR THIS SITE AND I SEE YOU ARE ON NUMBER 8 INSTRUCTIONS. WAS WONDERING IF I COULD HAVE THE FIRST 7 TO CATCH UP. THANK YOU. JUDY I THINK THIS IS BEAUTIFUL.
I love it! I’m going to try to see if I can do it. You have a very good taste. Thanks for shering your knowledge.
I want to go to the store right now, buy yarn, and begin to crochet! Many thank you’s for such beauty.
